Edward Harry William Meyerstein was an English scholar, author, and man of letters. He was born in London and educated at Magdalen College, Cambridge. He worked in the Department of Manuscripts in the British Museum, and served in World War I. After the war he turned to writing full-time, producing poetry, translations, plays, fiction, music criticism, and biography; he was perhaps best known for his life of Thomas Chatterton.
